The history
In March of this year, Christian Cueva signed a contract for five months. Alianza Lima made a big economic effort so that the ’10 ′ of the bicolor reinforce the two-time champion and, with his canvas, write memorable days. Until now, nothing similar has been seen. Moreover, there was an event of indiscipline involved, which warranted a sanction, which is now a thing of the past.
And it is that, the new technical director, Mauricio Larriera, has it in his plans and it is not a minor detail so that the agreement can close soon. In Christian’s favor, he plays because the team wants him, he does his part by lowering his salary, the squad is not large and the group needs him in the search for ‘Tri’.
Late premiere
Mauricio Larriera’s debut at the command of Alianza Lima will take place this Sunday against Cusco FC, at the ‘Navel of the World’. Precisely, the Uruguayan, in the company of his coaching staff, is looking for the ’11 ′ that best represents the two-time champion for the sake of victory.
The place is difficult because of what the elevation of 3399 meters high represents, but also because the rival playing at home is strong and the proof is that they have not been defeated in the Garcilaso Stadium for 11 dates.
The Blue and Whites are better placed than the Imperials in the Clausura Tournament standings –5th out of 12th– and want to stay the same so as not to lose sight of those who lead, with the faith of being able to catch up with them in the following days.
The idea of the ‘teacher’
Taking into account the difficulty and the need, Larriera will look for a ’11’ with balance, that is, one that has the ability to defend and attack, but showing order, intelligence and above all, too much efficiency.
For his debut in the blue and white technical direction, the ‘charrúa’ would be convincing himself in being able to use the 4-1-4-1 system, although he is also considering the 4-4-2 scheme where the wings will be essential in the success of everything collective gear.
There are still a couple of days left to define your strategy thinking about conquering Cusco. Today, after three days of training at EGB, the squad will ‘move’ to Matute to carry out the practice match and define the team that will start the game corresponding to matchday number 8 of the Clausura Tournament.
