Launches next week! Ratchet & Clank: A Dimension Apart for PC! Many have asked about the technologies we use and the system requirements. Today we’ll be looking at more of this and also want to announce some very exciting new features.
The development team implemented DirectStorage 1.2 to ensure that all fans have a smooth transition when jumping from dimension to dimension with this great game. This, in simple terms, reduces the workload that the processor has to support and that allows to greatly reduce load times.
A luxurious result
Alex Bartholomeus, Lead Programmer: “In ‘Ratchet & Clank: A Dimension Apart’ for PC, we’ve added adaptive streaming based on real-time measurements of the hardware’s available bandwidth. This way, we can use the best possible texture streaming strategy based on the configuration. With DirectStorage, the use of a fast NVMe SSD and GPU decompression results in fast responsive texture streaming even at the highest settings.”
We previously told you that the game will feature ray-traced reflections and the recently added ray-traced shadows to create natural outdoor lighting. Today we can reveal that another option is being added to further enhance the realism of in-game lighting: Ray Traced Ambient Occlusion, which has several quality levels to choose from.
Configurations: so that you are ready
Now, for the PC specifications, “Ratchet & Clank: A Dimension Apart”, will have 5 different configuration options; Minimum, Recommended, High, Incredible Ray Tracing and Ultimate Ray Tracing.
For the Minimum you will have an average performance of 720p at 30FPS, you will need either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 470 graphics card. The processor must be Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100, 8 GB of RAM, Windows 10 64-bit and 75 GB HDD storage but we recommend SSD.
For the high-end set that is Definitive Ray Tracing you will have a 4K visual at 60FPS, and you will need the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080. The processor must be Intel Core i7-12700k or AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32 GB of RAM, Windows 10 64-bit and also 75 GB of SSD disk space.
Although you can enjoy Ratchet & Clank: A Dimension Apart With an HDD and the minimum requirements, we encourage players to use an SSD in combination with the recommended system requirements or higher to truly feel the unique experience that the original game offers when jumping between dimensions.
