Specialists announced the launch of the Zero Carbon Latam Startup Program that seeks to encourage entrepreneurs to have strategies to measure and reduce the carbon footprint.
The purpose of the project is to promote sustainable processes among SMEs that do not generate a negative impact on the environment. This initiative will integrate a group of 50 startups from Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru.
With the program, Participating SMEs will be guided so that they know and begin to manage their polluting emissions. This through the training and accompaniment of expert consultants for 12 months. With this training, SMEs will be able to measure, evaluate and define their first strategy towards carbon neutrality.
How was the Zero Carbon Latam Startup Program born?
This project was organized by different Latin American expert organizations:
- Beeok, scale up dedicated to promoting and accelerating the business transition towards sustainability in Latin America.
- GreenTank, Mexican consultancy focused on sustainability.
- J3M, Ecuadorian consultancy for the development of goods, services and ideas related to sustainable construction, renewable energy and the environmental area.
- Better Consultores, an environmental consulting company, health and safety at work.
“Our intention is that more and more companies of any type join the path of sustainability. This program seeks to generate awareness among the sector, which is undoubtedly the economic engine in practically all of Latin America,” said Cristian Bustos, CEO and co-founder of Beeok.
How to take part?
- Businesses that wish to apply to participate in this initiative must have between 1 and 10 employees.
- Having been founded in one of the aforementioned countries.
- The training will take place virtually with a start date of July 13 of this year.
- Interested organizations can access the link of the Latam Carbono Cero Startup Program where they can consult the bases.
- The call closes July 5th.
Participating organizations will obtain a detailed report on their carbon footprint, as well as different recommendations to manage their processes in a more sustainable way.
In addition, they will win a license for the use, for one year, of the management software developed by Beeok.
