When it was revealed that Konami had lost control of Silent Hill, many were disappointed to the point that they do not believe that the Japanese company is willing to take care of its legacy. However, It looks like that won’t be the case, as one of Konami’s long-forgotten franchises has been given a makeover.
Recently, it was revealed that the Boktai property, a franchise that began on the Game Boy Advance and was produced by Hideo Kojima, has been renewed in Japan. Does this mean that we will see a new game in this series? Probably not, but at least it reveals that Konami isn’t quite ready to completely abandon its legacy in this industry just yet.
For those who don’t know, Boktai is a franchise that had four games, three on GBA and one on DS. In this franchise our goal was to eliminate vampires with the power of the sun, similar to Castlevania, but with unique twists. The interesting, is that the cartridge of the first title, had a solar panel, which was charged with real sunlight.
Boktai: Lunar Knightsthe latest game in the series, hit the market in 2007. Since then we haven’t heard anything about this series, and this probably won’t change. On related topics, Konami will continue to sell NFTs. In the same way, here you can check our gameplay of Castlevania: The Adventure.
Editor’s note:
While the idea of reviving a classic Konami series is interesting, this will surely not happen, especially considering everything that has happened with this company in recent years. We can only wait and see what will happen. Maybe we will see NFT from Boktai in the future.
