The anniversary will not be a Cloud version.
There are many Square Enix sagas that, despite the company, are very loved by their fans. And it’s normal, considering that they own such important franchises as Tomb Raider, Marvel, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy or, of course, Kingdom Hearts, the protagonist of the coming months. A few months ago we learned that Sora’s epic crossover with hundreds of Disney characters would come to Nintendo Switch in a very complete pack with practically all their games. The catch, however, was quite painful: the entire game will be in a Cloud version (but not Strife). Now, with its premiere date imminent, the date of the previously announced 20th anniversary event has also been revealed.
Time passes much faster as we get older, and that is why, almost without realizing it, twenty years have passed since we first picked up a Keyblade on our PlayStation 2. We’ve already advanced three generations of consoles, we have a huge catalog of Kingdom Hearts games and, despite having to play them in the cloud, surely this February 10 will be a long-awaited day for those who want to play the saga on a Nintendo Switch. After all, Kingdom Hearts has millions of fans.
Regarding the anniversary, we have recently discovered the plans of the franchise after the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account speak of it officially as follows: “Next April 10th we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts in Tokyo! We’ll kick off the 20th anniversary celebrations with a mini-concert, chat and Q&A with the development team, an exhibition, and much more. A video about this event will be available later“.

Square Enix has decided, in this way, that Kingdom Hearts, one of its star sagas, enjoy a tribute celebrating its 20th anniversary next April 10. Now it only remains to hope that they do not tarnish it as they did by bringing the Cloud version to Nintendo Switch or with controversial businesses such as those announced in their New Year’s greetings when entering 2022. Witnessing the most recent movements of the company, many fear a new disappointmentBut time will tell if Square listens to its fans or its investors.
