The new KIA Niro PHEV 2022 already has prices in Spain. KIA’s renewed plug-in hybrid SUV begins its commercial journey and does so accompanied by a range made up of different trim levels, a long list of standard equipment and mechanics that allow it to drive in 100% electric mode for more than 60 kilometres.
Kia It is already accepting orders for its renewed and very interesting plug-in hybrid SUV. The new KIA Niro PHEV 2022 already has prices and is for sale in Spain. The long-awaited new generation of the successful South Korean SUV is a reality and brings with it numerous new features that go beyond a simple change in exterior design or an improvement in technological equipment.
The order book has been opened and the first units will be available at Spanish dealers next July. The plug-in hybrid variant (PHEV) is positioned halfway between the access model, the Niro HEV, and the alternative most committed to sustainable mobility, the new 100% electric e-Niro.

The plug-in hybrid mechanics of the new KIA Niro PHEV 2022
Beyond the equipment and the way in which the offer has been composed, what is truly important lies in the entrails of the new Niro PHEV. There is a plug-in hybrid powertrain. A powertrain made up of a 105 hp 1.6-litre GDi petrol engine and 147 Nm of maximum torque as well as a small electric motor of 62 kW (84 hp) and 203 Nm respectively. The total power reaches 183 hp and 265 Nm.
The new Niro PHEV is driven through a six-speed DCT automatic gearbox. A transmission responsible for sending the power generated to the front axle. Another crucial element is the lithium polymer battery whose capacity reaches 11.1 kWh. It is a key component as it allows the KIA SUV to have a 100% electric autonomy of 65 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle.

In terms of performance, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 168 km/h. When driving in fully electric mode, the maximum speed is 136 km/h. Last but not least, is the fact that, by having the aforementioned electric range, the new Niro PHEV will continue to sport the environmental label 0 Emissions from the DGT
(Traffic Generation Department) with all the mobility advantages that this entails.
