Justice Chronicles was added to the new Nintendo Switch repertoire this past January 6. Bringing a new installment of RPG and being developed by Hit-Point (creators of Monster Viator).
Justice Chronicles It is available for Switch, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5.
Save the world with the help of the god of death
The story tells of the adventures of Kline, a knight of the High Beast troop. Which after disobeying the orders of his commander, is at the crossroads of saving Alia, a young woman from an enemy tribe.
To save her, Kline decides to merge with Roosevelt, the God of Death; but he costs part of her own life.
Justice Chronicles narrates the adventures of Alia and Kline in their quest to banish the shadows that terrify the world, obviously meeting many new members along the way.
Classic retro RPG dynamics
One of the first impressions that came to me was how classic and clean this game turned out to be.
Like any RPG, we find turn-based systems but with a first-person perspective, which leads me almost immediately to deliveries like phantasy star of our beloved Sega Genesis.
Retro = 8 bit graphics
Justice Chronicles it does not escape the rule of what is expected of an indie RPG that has retro overtones like north. We find clean graphics in the best 8-bit style, with somewhat slow and cutting animations, which further exacerbates this parallelism with what we experienced in the 90s with deliveries of the style.
As for the sound section, it is simple, clean and somewhat basic. Clearly the development is focused on the story and not so much on the execution.
Conclution
Being a regular in the world of RPGs, the reality is that Justice Chronicles was more for a sense of experimentation than gratification.
However, I celebrate that his inspirations are deliveries that marked the path we travel today as players.
