Jonathan Orozcothe outstanding Monterrey goalkeeper who is currently without a team due to an injury, has expressed his firm desire to conclude his sporting career with the team of his loves, the scratches of Monterey in 2024. His recent appearance at the BBVA Stadium during the presentation of Jesús Manuel Corona generated a passionate ovation from the Albiazule fans.
Despite his current injury, Orozco did not pass up the opportunity to speak to the media about the possibility of returning to the club that has provided him with so much support throughout his career. “Very grateful to the people, what you sow on the field is what you reap outside, always grateful for the applause, the affection, I was close to having a tear come out”he shared excitedly.
When asked about his desire to close his career in Monterrey, Orozco expressed his desire: “Look, I would love to, obviously it doesn’t depend on me, it depends on many issues, not only the fact that I want to play and retire in the club, it is my dream, let’s see if it can be achieved, I hope so and if “They don’t know that I’m just another Rayado.”
The goalkeeper stressed that his decision is not about a salary issue: “That’s all, I told them, I’m very honest, for the love of the shirt I’m going to do it for free, without them having to pay me a peso, they just pay me for the gasoline, but it’s for the love of the club, for the affection what I have, I hope I can close my career here”.
Orozco also shared that there have been conversations about his return to Rayados: “We have talked about certain issues, the ‘president’ Jorge Urdiales is the one who has been very aware of it; So if it is possible and the conditions are met, welcome.”.
Regarding the deadline for his return, Orozco highlighted his honesty and the priority of his health: “I know I’m going to miss this tournament, but I’m going to miss it for myself, for my health, because when I return in December it’s a good place to be. And, honestly, I don’t plan to play for more than a year. Yes, my wrist was touched. What I want is to close the cycle in the best way.”
Jonathan Orozco’s emotional aspiration to retire at Rayados in 2024 remains a desire that, although it does not depend solely on him, could be fulfilled if the conditions and negotiations align properly, which would be a moving end to a career full of achievements and love for the albiazul t-shirt.
