Activision Blizzard is being one of the companies that has been talked about the most for a long time and not precisely because of a good thing. The harassment lawsuits resulted in some key team members being fired, including Luis Barriga, director of Diablo IV, from which any references that could appear in World of Warcraft have also been removed.
Due to this situation, the new installment of Devil I needed a new director and the one chosen to fill that position is Joe Shely, who has been part of the title development team since 2017. In a publication on the official website, he acknowledged feeling an honor to be able to continue with his vision in this important position.
He himself has wanted to record the fact that the company is not going through its best moments, but assures that this will not prevent the team from strive and maintain a strong commitment for putting into practice all the values to which they aspire with a solid and passionate group to be able to work in Diablo IV.
Actually Shely has been with Blizzard for many years.Since he was one of the World of Warcraft designers since 2005, he was also a Senior Designer on Diablo III and did his bit in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.
The only one that we still do not know is the date on which Diablo IV It will go on sale, so so far it is not certain that it will see the light next year. In the meantime, we can be content with Diablo II Resurrected and dedicate ourselves to killing demons with this magnificent remastering, without forgetting that during the first half of 2022 the launch of Diablo Immortal is expected on mobile devices.
