Monterey. Nuevo León.- For the tenth edition of the the largest entrepreneurship festival in Latin America, the INCmtyone of the talks that had the most impact among the attendees was that of Jay Shetty.
The son of Hindu immigrants and born in England, Shetty is a former monk, writer, podcaster, motivational coach and content creator. He shared in his keynote address “Why Connected Thinkers Will Rule the Future”the four success habits for entrepreneurs.
“When we change the way we see things, things change; My wish for you is that you leave healthier and happier”, Jay Shetty.
These four habits, which he named under in an acronym for TIMEbelong to: Gratitude (Thankfulness), inner vision (Insight), Meditation (Mindfulness) and Exercise (exercise).
1. Practice gratitude
This first habit may sound trivial, but it has benefits for both the practitioner and the recipient. According to Jay Shetty, science has shown that the more you are grateful, the less likely you are to have anxious thoughts at the same time. In addition, it boosts your immune system and deepens your personal relationships. It makes you and others feel good.
How to practice it? The speaker affirms that it is not enough to keep a gratitude journal, but to see it and practice it as a deep way of giving thanks for concrete actions in your day to day.
2. Inner vision
Do you wake up and the first thing you do is look at your cell phone? This action fills you with stress from the moment you open your eyes, seeing the messages, the bad news, the infinity of emails and tasks to be carried out, is not a good idea.
“If you transform your first thought of the day you will have already won, since it becomes a butterfly effect”, Jay Shetty.
How to do it? To have this habit, the Hindu ex-monk advises having your favorite quote on your desk and reading it as soon as you get up, listening to a podcast or even taking a look at a book. With this “you will have won the day. It will give you clarity and the foundation to solve problems and noise from outside. In this way, you will have a different perspective.
3. Meditation
How much time do you spend? Although meditation sounds simple, Jay says that 90% of people do not have time for themselves and meditation has brought many benefits to his life.
How to meditate in your day to day? The speaker recommends: “Have a meeting with yourself. At the beginning and end of the day, schedule 5 minutes like any other meeting, while you ask yourself, what do I need to do for myself today to make this a good day?
4. Exercise
Giving the mind tools is important, but the body must not be neglected. Strengthening the body and doing physical activity is important.
“I realized how very important and beneficial exercise is for the body. You need to stay energized and activated, it helps you work better and think more clearly,” shared Jay.
To conclude, he pointed out that entrepreneurs must seek happiness to find success.
“Being a conscious and happy entrepreneur will make you an internal millionaire”, Jay Shetty.
