After 45 years of artistic career, Jamie Lee Curtis finally made it taste gold at the Oscars with his victory tonight at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
The long-awaited recognition for the star of Halloween, True Lies and a crazy friday came thanks to her role as Deirdre Beaubeirdra, the inspector for the Internal Revenue Service (ISR), in the wacky multiversal adventure Everything everywhere at the same timeof the Daniels.
The interpreter shared the quintet for Best Supporting Actress with her co-star Stephanie Hsu (Everything everywhere at the same time), Hong Chau (The whale), Kerry Condom (the spirits of the island) and Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever).

“I know it looks like I’m standing here alone, but I’m not. I am hundreds of people,” said Jamie Lee Curtis. “To the entire team that made the film, we just won an Oscar.”

Jamie Lee Curtis had never previously been nominated for an Oscar. However, she garnered nominations throughout this season for awards: the Golden Globe; the Critics’ Choice and the BAFTA, as well as winning the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award.
Everything everywhere at the same time It is the most nominated film of this edition of the Academy Awards with 11 mentions. In addition to emerging as the great favorite to win the Oscar for Best Picture, its possibilities also stand out in the categories of Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Actress. Ke Huy Quan has also won the Oscar for supporting actor.
“To all the people who have supported the genre films that I have made over all these years, to those hundreds of thousands of people, we just won an Oscar together! and my mother [Janet Leigh] already my father [Tony]who were both nominated for an Oscar in different categories, I just won an Oscar!” Curtis closed his emotional speech.
