James Gunn has too much on his plate right now with the reboot of a cohesive cinematic universe at DC. However, whenever the possibility that the public is tired of superhero movies is discussed, it is worth considering options to revive interest in these films in times of crisis. how about a crossover between Marvel and DC characters?
In interview with Empire ahead of the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn was questioned about this possibility. The above, not only because the filmmaker now leads the reins of DC, but because of his close friendship with Kevin Feige, head honcho of Marvel Studios.

“I’m sure that’s more likely now that I’m in charge. [en DC Studios]Gunn admitted. “Who knows? However, that is many years away. I think we first need to establish what we’re doing [en DC]. I’d be lying if I said we haven’t discussed it. But all the discussions have been very, very light, and fun.”
In another recent conversation with fandago The question also arose of a possible crossover from Marvel and DC at some point. The DC Studios co-chairman repeated that, right now, the priority should be “to land the Marvel and DC universes, and make them as strong as possible.” However, he also emphasized the fact that he maintains constant communication with Feige,
“I think that he crossover what I like is that [Kevin Feige] and I are very friends. So, we talk all the time. I think the idea of a rivalry between Marvel and DC, of course, is always going to be around,” he acknowledged. “But what’s really important to me is that we both encourage the movie-going experience. And the experience of going to the movies is something that survives today because of the great show movies.”
However, this is not the first time Gunn has addressed this issue. In June 2021, long before he was appointed to spearhead DC Studios’ efforts, the filmmaker revealed on Twitter that he had already “accidentally” spoken to Marvel and DC executives at the time about a crossover. “I don’t think it’s likely, but I don’t think it’s impossible either,” the filmmaker wrote.
Now that the ball is in James Gunn’s field, will they make it happen with Kevin Feige in the future?
