If a director can generate all kinds of reactions for his statements, that is James Gunn. Whether it’s because of his work at Marvel, or because of his future plans at DC Studios, but his name doesn’t stop grabbing headlines. On this occasion, his interest in combining both jobs is what has caught the attention of superhero movie fans. And it is that James Gunn would like the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy will participate in DC productions that he will command.
In interview for Empire, Gunn spoke about the heavy workload he currently carries. He is not only writing the new Superman movie and thinking about how to captivate DC fans again, he is also working on the post production of Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3. Said tape will mark the end of his collaborations with Marvel, and boy will the filmmaker miss the cast of that franchise.
Here their statements.
“This cast is like my family. I can’t tell you how close I am to Chris Pratt and Pom (Klementieff), and Dave (Bautista), and Zoe (Saldaña), and Karen (Gillan). But I also know that I will be working with all those people individually again. It’s probably at my other job”.
Although he didn’t elaborate on that last sentence, it’s clear that James Gunn will be taking cast members from Guardians of the Galaxy for his new universe at DC. A few weeks ago, Dave Bautista declared that he was looking for more serious and dark roles. If DC specializes in something, it is in characters with those characteristics; even some comic book fans proposed the actor as DC’s new Bane. Is there any chance of that happening?
For now, Gunn is fine-tuning details to release the first announcements of his famous plan for DC Studios. According to some rumors, it will be in the next few days when the public knows the projects with which the DC Universe could be reborn. Any actor from Guardians of the Galaxy Will it be present in these announcements?
Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 will hit theaters in Mexico next may 4th. Will Gunn be able to close his cycle at Marvel in style?
Juan Jose Cruz I am one of those who always defended Robert Pattinson as Batman and can see the same movie in the theater up to 7 times. My guilty pleasure? Low budget horror movie.
