Director James Gunn confirms that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the last time we see this team of Guardians.
With the words “This is the end for us, the last time people will see this team of Guardians,” James Gunn confirmed to Deadline’s Hero Nation that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the conclusion of the franchise in his charge. .
And he continued talking about the third installment of the saga: “It’s big; it’s so, so big and dark and different than what people might be expecting it to be… I just want to be true to the characters, to the story and give people the wrapper they deserve for the story. That’s always a little scary; I’m doing what I can.”
Guardians Vol. 3 Awesome Mix Is Done, Says James Gunn
Regarding Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 3, Gunn also confirms that it’s finished, and that: “It came from the brown Zune that Yondu gave to Peter Quill. They are not chosen by their mother, I can tell you that.”
The Zune is a 300-song player created by Microsoft and sold between 2007 and 2012, when it was discontinued because it was commercially crushed by iPop.
In Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2, following Peter Quill’s departure from the Ravager Clan, Yondu bought the Zune from a junk shop believing that Quill would one day return to his crew and left it to the Kraglin Obfonteri. After Yondu’s funeral, Obfonteri gave the Player to Star-Lord.
