In addition to a very possible second season of Peacemaker, James Gunn confirms that there will be a second spin-off series of The Suicide Squad.
As an exclusive to the Deadline medium, James Gunn confirmed that, after Peacemaker, The Suicide Squad will have a second spin-off series for HBO Max. And although he did not advance which character will lead it, the filmmaker said: “We are working on something else now, another television series that is connected to that universe, I can’t say at all.”
He added, “I don’t think it will be in the same genre as Peacemaker, it won’t be as much of a comedy as Peacemaker, but it will be in the same universe.”
Additionally, Gunn spoke about a second season of Peacemaker: “There’s a very good chance of that… The series is doing extraordinarily well, and we’re excited.”
During the 2020 pandemic hiatus, James Gunn conceived of the Peacemaker series, while finishing editing The Suicide Squad. “I was starting to get bored, because I was locked up, I was depressed, I had strong anxiety like many of us at that time and still do today, and I needed something to take care of myself… That’s where the program came from.”
And he finished: “I needed something to calm me down.”

DC Comics Deluxe – Suicide Squad: Bad Blood
There is no “love” in this “team”.
When the Suicide Squad is assigned to neutralize a group of international super-terrorists known as The Revolutionaries, the last thing they expect is for the survivors to join the team!
Harley Quinn and Deadshot are veterans of the squad, and it will be hard for them to trust their new teammates: the very targets they’ve been sent to kill. Maybe this new team will survive the mission… but they will most likely kill each other, so don’t get attached to either one.
Acclaimed writer TOM TAYLOR [DCeased] meets with his celebrated Injustice collaborators BRUNO REDONDO [Justice League] and DANIEL SAMPERE [Action Comics] to bring you this GLAAD Media Award nominated series: Suicide Squad: Bad Blood.
