The British Jake Dennis has achieved victory in the first race of the London ePrixsuccess before his public that allows him to inaugurate his record this season and already add his third victory in Formula E. Double on the podium of Mercedes EQ, with Stoffel Vandoorne second and Nyck de Vries third, a result that allows the Belgian to extend his leadership at the head of the championship and take a giant step towards the title. Among his rivals, Mitch Evans has managed to come back to sixth place. Race to forget for Jean-Eric Vergne and Edo Mortara.
Jake Dennis made his pole good and managed to cross the first chicane in the lead ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne and Nyck de Vries. From behind, Sam Bird was pushed Edo Mortara, giving rise to the usual ‘montonera’ that occurs in each Formula E start. One of the great victims was Edo Mortara himself falling to 15th place, although the important thing was the damage to his car. In fact, the Swiss had to pit for his team to change the front wing and remove the remains of the single-seater under his car.
Despite the initial incident, the first laps passed without a yellow flag or any Safety Car, something that in itself is a novelty. This left Mortara with almost no options when he returned to the track with a minute lost. in head, Sérgio Sette Câmara overtook Nyck de Vries, touch through, to storm the third position. A risky and at the same time effective movement that contrasted with the maneuvers seen in the center of the platoon. The ‘attack mode’, with two activations per pilot and six minutes of extra power per activation, was made to beg.
Maximilian Günther was the first pilot with enough space to activate the ‘attack mode’ in head The domino effect was not long in coming and Oliver Askew and Nyck de Vries they also used their first ‘attack mode’. Movement that was worth the Mercedes driver to storm the third position after beating Sérgio Sette Câmara. The Dutchman returned the maneuver to the Penske driver and at the same time allowed the two leading drivers to make use of their first ‘attack mode’.
The first activation of the ‘attack mode’ did not leave any change in the head, yes from behind since Alexander Sims managed to win the game against Jean-Eric Vergne, trapped in the lower part of the peloton and unable to come back. In fact, Oliver Askew and Maximilian Günther were back at it almost immediately with their second activation. And one more time, the domino effect led all the leading drivers to activate the ‘attack mode’ almost in parallel, without allowing immediate changes of positions. And so it went until everyone lost the extra power mode.
Thus, the last third of the race was very strategicsince the seven leading drivers were separated by 7 seconds, there being a first gap in the group behind the back of Maximilian Günther, since António Félix Da Costa was unable to close the gap with the German driver. In fact, DS Techeetah pilot looked outmatched by Mitch Evansthe only one of the drivers fighting for the title who started in a back position with the ability to move in the peloton and gain positions. Six to place eighth with an ‘attack mode’ to use.

Nick Cassidy managed to overtake Oliver Askew for fifth positionas the New Zealander saved his second ‘attack mode’ for the final stretch of the race. The Envision pilot did well with the strategy, to the point that Cassidy also reported on Sérgio Sette Câmara to storm fourth place. With five minutes to go, Sette Câmara began to give ground very quickly and was overtaken by Oliver Askew, Maximilian Günther and Mitch Evans in just one lap. Also António Félix Da Costa ended up beating the Brazilian.
With a certain margin and controlling the situation at all times, Jake Dennis achieved his first win of the season after beating a Stoffel Vandoorne by 2.2 seconds who took second place for granted in the final laps. In the end, the Belgian was the only contender for the title to have achieved a great deal of points, even if Mitch Evans has finally climbed to sixth place due to the five-second penalty received by Lucas Di Grassi and the final energy problems of Maximilian Günther.
In fact, the party has been complete in Mercedes EQ, since Nyck de Vries has managed to resist the attacks of Nick Cassidy in the final stretch of the race and has taken the final third position, certifying the double for the German firm. Behind the duo formed by De Vries and Cassidy, Oliver Askew crossed the finish line, completing the best Avalanche Andretti result of the season. After Evans and Da Costa, Maximilian Günther had to settle for eighth place after running out of energy in the last two corners.
