“I want to offer a thousand apologies to all the people who were offended, especially women and the black community“said the artist in a video posted on his Instagram account.
The video, which shows Balvin with two black women disguised as bitches, who crawl next to him tied by the neck with chains, outraged users of social networks and public personalities. The vice president of Colombia, Marta Lucía Ramírez, accused the musician of promoting “sexist” and “racist” messages.
“In response, and obviously out of respect, I downloaded the video (from YouTube) 8 days ago. Seeing that they continued with the criticism, I am here (…) giving face“added the 36-year-old singer.
At the beginning of the video clip, the reggaeton player says he is leaving for an “underworld” and later appears as the only light-skinned mestizo dancing among dozens of black people in a poor neighborhood.
“You are a bitch in heat and you are looking for a dog to stay hit (hit)”, sings the five-time winner of the Latin Grammy Award.
“I’m a street bitch with the popola (vagina) of race,” replies Tokischa, a black rapper born in the Dominican Republic who co-stars in the video clip.
Before Balvin removed it from his YouTube channel, the video exceeded 10 million visits and can still be seen on other channels of that social network.
