Grants for the renewal of the car package in Italy, and especially the sustainable mobility models, are available again after the incentive package was struck down just a few weeks ago. An injection close to 60 million euros ensures the purchase of electric and plug-in hybrids.
It has taken the Italian government two weeks to restore aid for buying new plug-in hybrid and electric cars. The transalpine country literally melted the millionaire game inaugurated in 2018 to help Italians to renew the car fleet by betting on new cars with CO2 emissions between 0 and 60 g / km, which includes a wide range of models of different segments.
Only the incentives to change the car for a combustion one remained -and still are- in force, a fund that is also very much in the air, as they expect it to be finished next fall when it’s scheduled to expire at the end of the year. Even so, it will continue to help non-rechargeable combustion and hybrid models, whose CO2 emissions are between 61 and 135 g / km.
An injection of money for aid in Italy that is not enough
If the new injection had not arrived, it would be a huge disaster for the government, whose objective is to seriously bet on the most efficient models on the market and go progressively shedding gasoline cars and giving yourselfl. Thus, since today the same aid has been started up again, in the same existing sections, but not in the amounts of aid that were available, which is due to a lower injection of funds.
Only 57.5 million available until well into 2022, which has been confirmed by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, but with a significant decrease in the amount of aid and in the application deadlines. As for the amount, the “extrabonus” is lost, so If until last August the eco-bonuses reached up to 10,000 Euros, now they remain at a maximum of 6,000 Euros If a new car with emissions between 0 and 20 g / km is purchased, another car is taken to scrap. Amount that drops to 4,000 Euros if another vehicle is not scrapped. For plug-in hybrids with emissions between 21 and 60 g / km, the aid is 2,500 and 1,500 Euros, with and without scrapping.
But there is more news, because the subsidy becomes effective when the car is registered and, therefore, dealers had to request them 180 before their arrival. Now this period is extended for some orders, so that for requests made Between July 1 and December 31, 2021, it is allowed to request the aid until June 30, 2022. A very long term and a very short fund that is expected to be exhausted, once again, sooner rather than later and that will force the Italian Government to redefine the aid to change cars, betting all the funds on those of sustainable mobility more pure.
