already pointed it out Sony a few months ago. The future is to get on the bandwagon of games as a service and the Japanese company has a few cooking in the oven. Today we have been able to learn the first details of one of them, which is run by London Studio.
In an interview with Gamesindustry.biz, the developer has revealed that they are parking their last steps in the VR field to launch into the multiplayer field. Specifically to an online cooperative action title that will be set in a fantasy London, although the name of the work has not been revealed.
Accustomed to experimenting given their experience with SingStar, EyeToy or PlayStation Home, no virtual reality technology will be used. “With this project, we really wanted to explore new avenues and set ourselves new challenges,” explains co-director Stuart Whyte.
The truth is that this game will only be released on PS5 and is defined as “our most ambitious game to date”, as indicated by co-director Tara Saunders. To give us an idea of the inspiration process that they have carried out, they assure that they spoke with our colleagues from Guerrilla Games. We were amazed at how they went from Killzone to Horizon: Zero Dawn.”
However, there are elements of the past that will be recovered. Specifically Soho Engine, London Studio’s graphic enginewhich “is designed to take full advantage of PS5. But it’s fair to say that some of the toolset we’re using goes back to the VR Worlds and Blood & Truth technology we had on PS4,” Whyte notes.
So we have a release platform, but there is no approximate date or name for the game. For now we must settle for the image that illustrates this news.
