One of the needs of public health is not only the construction of new hospitals but also the remodeling of existing ones. It was because of the above that Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) released news that benefits both patients and the medical staff themselves.
With the presence of the general manager, Pedro Zenteno Santaella, the Intensive Care Unit and Transplantation of Solid Organs and Hematopoietic Progenitor Cells of the National Medical Center (CMN) “20 de Noviembre” in Mexico City.
“We are well and good, because with actions like this we are advancing towards a new ISSSTE, for the benefit of the more than 13.6 million beneficiaries. This hospital unit, flagship of the institute, is at the forefront with highly specialized facilities and personnel”.
What are their characteristics?
In addition to solid organ and bone marrow transplants, in this area, made up of 16 hospitalization rooms, the highly specialized course will be housed: “Transplantation of hematopoietic progenitor cells”. The objective is to help in the training of specialists to meet the needs of the Mexican population.
The official added that in addition to this achievement, there has also been strengthened with equipment, maintenance works, expansions, remodeling the first level of care where 80 percent of the entitlement is served. For this purpose, changes have been made such as balanced templates, extension of shifts, supply of medicines, improvement of laboratory and dental services.
The new hospitals that ISSSTE will open in 2023
With this in mind, so far more than three million pieces have been acquired to continue providing the medical units of the three levels of care with equipment, uniforms, shoes, miscellaneous furniture, hospital and operating room clothingin addition to promoting a work culture based on prevention and humanism.
“We close 2022 with everything, recovering the resolution capacity of ISSSTE, and in 2023 four general hospitals with 250 census beds each will be built in Coahuila, Guerrero, Jalisco and Tamaulipas, as well as two clinics: one in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur , and in Palenque, Chiapas”.
The regulatory director of Health, Ramiro López Elizalde, pointed out that in addition to the Intensive Care Unit and Solid Organ Transplants and Hematopoietic Progenitor Cellsother spaces of the CMN “20 de Noviembre” are being equipped, as well as clinics and hospitals throughout the country, to provide the service that the right holder deserves.
The manager of the CMN “20 de Noviembre”, Martha Alvarado Ibarra, explained that the space dedicated to solid and bone marrow transplants was insufficient, because it only had four rooms for patient recovery and they did not cover the demand.
“With the start-up of the 16 hospitalization rooms, we will be able to issue the list of 60 patients awaiting bone marrow and solid organ transplants such as: liver, cornea, kidney, heart and lung, both for infants and children. adults from all over the country in this type of procedure”.
