That Israel is one of the great technological powers in the world is no secret to anyone. And the battery market has become one of the highest in recent years, with new companies rubbing shoulders with others with greater tradition.
One of them is StoreDot, creator of an extremely fast charging battery (XFC). This Israeli startup has even caught the attention of Tesla, Elon Musk’s company, which according to Teslarati I would have thought about investing in it.
StoreDot XFC batteries feature a superior fast charging capacity and a high energy density of 300 Wh/kg.
This revolutionary technology would be key to the development of Tesla, which has a large number of customers in the country. According to Teslarati, StoreDot’s XFC batteries will be capable, by 2024, charging up to 160 kilometers in just 5 minutes.
The evolution aims to lower times: to only 3 minutes by 2028 and to 2 minutes by the end of the current decade.
The objective of Tesla, which along with building its electric cars also develops batteries of this type, is to rely in the future on the technology of new companies like StoreDot.
But StoreDot is not the only battery-related company that is making a name for itself in Israel. It is also ALGOLiON, acquired this year by General Motors.
What is the peculiarity of ALGOLiON? Works with data flows from electronic vehicle battery management systems.
The goal of the software is detect small changes in performance.
As pointed out the Israel 21 C portal, “This not only helps ensure proper vehicle health management, but also provides early detection of battery hazards, including overheating.”
