Much has been said in the last few hours about all the projects that CD Projekt RED has announced for the coming years, with new deliveries of The Witcher, Cyberpunk and even a new license yet to be revealed. However, many fans of the Polish studio keep asking themselves the same question over and over again: Will The Witcher 3 next-gen patch arrive this year? CD Projekt also answered this question in its recent internal meeting and in a nutshell the answer is yes, even is planned that the improved version for the (no longer so) new generation of consoles land at some unspecified time in the remainder of 2022.
That continues to be the intention of CD Projekt RED, although the Poles still do not dare to give a date. The modus operandi is undoubtedly reminiscent of the one they followed with the Cyberpunk 2077 next-gen patch, which arrived without prior notice from one day to the next and as a surprise to all fans. It should be noted that Netflix will premiere the prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin on December 25, so it is possible that CD Projekt wants to take advantage of that launch window so that both mutually beneficial projects. The Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime has shown that these kinds of plays are no nonsense.
What could be the release date of the new trilogy of The Witcher
It should be remembered that the next-gen patch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was delayed indefinitely after CD Projekt RED dropped the Russian subsidiary of Saber Interactive which was in charge of its development as a result of the beginning of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Since then, the Polish company has been in charge of the production after an exhaustive phase of analysis of how the situation of the game was going. This patch will not only include visual and performance improvements, but also new cosmetic content based on Netflix’s The Witcher series.
