Netflix added 2.4 million new users in the third quarter of the year according to its latest quarterly accounts reportwhich exceeded the company’s own expectations, since they had planned to increase their customer base by just one million.
The giant of “streaming”, which has achieved in this period 1,398 million dollars in benefitshas managed to reverse the trend that had been dragging in recent months, with a constant loss of customers that led to its stock price suffering the biggest drop in its history.
Just a few days ago, Netflix announced a new monthly subscription model that includes ads in exchange for reducing its cost to retain and attract more customers.
The company said the “Basic with Ads” plan will have between four and five minutes of ads per hour, and some series or movies will be temporarily unwatchable due to licensing restrictions.
When will Netflix arrive with ads in Mexico?
It will be next November 1, 2022 at 11 am (CDMX time) when users can hire the so-called Basic plan with ads. This model will be priced at $99 pesos per month.
What will the video quality be like on this plan?
Video quality will be up to 720p/HD and can be enjoyed on only one device at a time. Advertising will be 4 to 5 minutes per hour. That is, if you watch a half-hour episode or program, the ads will have a proportional duration. Although there will be access to a wide variety of series and movies, some specific content will not be available due to certain licensing restrictions.. You will also not be able to download content.
