One of the most debated typical dishes about its true origin has been ceviche. In Peru they indicate that it is their own recipe, while in Ecuador they indicated that this is a lie. Given this, artificial intelligence comes to bring order by indicating where this typical dish is actually from.
This was what Google Bard indicated:
“Ceviche is a traditional dish of Peruvian gastronomy, but it is also very popular in Ecuador. Both countries claim authorship of the dish, and there is historical evidence to support both claims.”
“There are records of dishes similar to ceviche in Peru dating back to pre-Columbian times. The ancient Peruvians marinated fish in lemon or lime juice, and seasoned it with chili and other ingredients.
“In Ecuador, ceviche is also a traditional dish that dates back to colonial times. The Spanish introduced the lemon to Ecuador, and Ecuadorians began to use this citrus to marinate fish.
“Today, ceviche is a popular dish in both countries. There are many variations of the dish, but the basic ingredients are fish, lemon, chili and onion.
“In terms of authorship, it is difficult to say with certainty which country the ceviche originates from. It is possible that the dish arose independently in both countries, or that it was transmitted from one to the other.”
“However, the fact that ceviche is such a popular dish in both countries is a sample of the richness of Peruvian and Ecuadorian gastronomy,” was what Google Bard indicated.
Despite the fact that artificial intelligence does not usually provide answers of this type, the new Google tool is capable of providing this type of results that can raise controversy in a large number of Latin American countries.
