The political class has about seven and a half million affiliated members, who are a tiny universe compared to the 93.6 million people who make up the electoral roll and although they are so few compared to the rest of society, they spend almost six thousand million pesos each year from treasury resources.
Recently, the teacher Guillermo Pérez Herrera called on society disappointed by current politicians to build a movement of citizens who fit “In the same boat” to contend for a new country in 2024.
Guillermo Pérez Herrera is a carpenter by trade, a lawyer by profession, as well as thousands of us, mothers of families, merchants, entrepreneurs and businessmen who combine activities, with the difference that this 36-year-old has a concern and a dream that Mexico be different and for this it has a plan that it intends to start as a national movement.
“In the same boat”, seeks to bring together society that is not represented and that is not little, about 30 million people have walked away from the polls in the last three elections. Pérez Herrera, like millions of Mexicans, feels disappointed in the public policy of current President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who believed the slogan of the loving republic and for whom he voted and therefore seeks to build a republic “as we deserve it” that don’t keep promises.
To do so, it proposes 9 main axes: security through the pacification of the country, health with a “Universal Health System”; work with the creation of a million jobs per year; education; economy; Water; gender perspective and a foreign policy that promotes tourism and the attraction of direct investment.
He is one of the options because, although he has not said it, he has qualities, age, profile and interest and will start a tour in which he will surely add followers, but he is not the only one, there is Demetrio Sodi who has already raised his hand and published in his column in El Economista “If we want to win we have to maintain the unity of the opposition, nominate the candidate who can beat Morena and her allies and get people to vote, a citizen candidate can become the best option, since that can achieve unity above the parties and motivate the participation of the people”.
Morena is the official party and won because of social weariness but it is not invincible, especially after the results of the president in question regarding health and safety, proof of this is that Delfina Gómez has not turned out to be the invincible dolphin in the State of Mexico and in recent polls it has not benefited.
The electoral institutions in the country are mature enough to resist a loss of Morena, so the decision will be up to the citizens, their capacity for reflection and, above all, keep in mind the scoundrels we have suffered in recent times.
