The company said “they are no longer useful” or “they cannot be repaired” and Wiltech, whose real name is Wilmer Becerra, checks them and puts them to work optimally. Due to this practice, the Colombian technician received a threatening document letter from Apple, which warns him to take legal action if he continues to carry out this work.
The Republic review that Apple argues that Wiltech is posing as an official service of the company. The same technician clarifies in his networks that he is an independent worker who became an expert in the cell phones of the Cupertino giant. In addition, he explains that he clarifies this for customers who seek an urgent solution in him so as not to lose his device.
This warning from Apple generated an increase in its offices. The aforementioned site reports that Willtech has published a video on its networks, in which it explains how more iPhone cases are now arriving “without solution”.
“Since that news came out, a lot of equipment has entered our repair centers, so we are at 150% of our capacity. If you are a user who wants to bring your phone to Wiltech, I am going to have to ask you for a little patience because there is too much work right now, ”Wilmer explains in one of his videos.
Likewise, regarding the case of Apple, the technician says that the issue escalated to political levels, since state officials wrote to him to support him in continuing to carry out his work.
“Many people wrote to us, including congressmen, who told us: ‘Wilmer, we want to support you, we want to create a law that protects not only cell phone repairmen, but also the end user who is not being cared for after their warranty,” Wiltech said.
