New Instagram news
Through a post on its website, Meta has announced that it will make some improvements to Instagram. Those responsible for this social network indicated that they will have a function that will allow adolescents to manage what they see and how long they see it.
They also point out that with this novelty Instagram intends to give a “push” to those who are trapped in the same type of publication on the social network.
“Instagram aims to give a boost to those who are trapped in the same type of publication on the social network,” says the platform.
In that same sense, they explained that with a notification similar to ‘Take a break’, they seek to encourage adolescents to stop seeing certain types of periodicals.
Instagram details that it is a feature that could help teenagers “discover something new and exclude certain types of topics that could be associated with the comparison of appearance.”
However, as indicated by the social network, this novelty will not be available everywhere, but initially it will only reach Canada, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland and New Zealand.
“We want to make sure that people feel good about the time they spend on Instagram… This is a way to slightly encourage that. It doesn’t matter what topic you’re delving into, if you do it especially, we let you know and we suggest other topics, “explains Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram to CBS Mornings.
parental controls
Another new feature of Instagram is that it will include the functionality of Taking a break in the Reels of its platform.
This feature will initially be tested in the UK, US, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
As also now the social network will allow parents to send requests to their teenagers to access parental controls.
“Parents will now be able to see information about the posts reported by their children. Finally, they will also be able to observe the time they have spent on Instagram”, says the social network.
Instagram is not the only social network that is launching new tools, as in the case of Twitter, which also came with its Twitter Circle function, with which it seeks to view and interact with its content, similar to that of the platform’s ‘best friends’ of photographs.
While the instant messaging platform WhatsApp said that it is working on a function where users can react with emojis in the states, something similar to what happens with Instagram stories.
