After almost five years we will be able to organize our Instagram feed in chronological order again. We tell you all the info here!
After Instagram decided to take out the feed in chronological order almost five years (to change it to an organization based on a algorithm) now we can enjoy again of this kind of feed.
But all is not so simple. Users will not have the posts of the people we follow ordered from the newest to the oldest in Instagram completely. With the new update, the social network introduce three types of feed: on the one hand, the one based on the algorithm that we are used to. On the other, a feed from “followed” where we can see the publications of the people we follow in chronological order. And finally, a feed from “favorites”where we will see the publications of up to 50 accounts that we have in favorites.
These can be accessed three feed from a tab that appears in the upper left corner of the application. Many of the users of the social network missed this feedand it’s quite an interesting decision on the part of Instagram. After several users complained that the social network’s algorithm did not give them room to grow, Instagram came out to defend feed.
On June Last year, the social network uploaded a post explaining how its algorithm worked. The executive of the social network, Adam Mosseriwrote that the decision to leave the feed chronological in 2016 it was because “People were missing out. 70% of the posts in the feedincluding half of the posts of his acquaintances”.
But many users do not agree with the incorporation of this algorithm. In particular to adolescents, who are the ones who suffer the most when using the social network. And in recent months, Instagram has incorporated suggested posts and reels at feed of users, something that is also controlled by the algorithm. With the addition of three types of feeds, Instagram is giving freedom of the content we want to see and, at the same time, making sure that the user is the one who has in his hands the decision that feed use.
