Pokémon Scarlet and Violet they’re releasing this November, three years after the introduction of Gen 8 via Pokemon Sword and Shield, which remained the series’ main competitive hub in the meantime. Although Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were announced back in February, very little is officially known about the games due to a lack of new trailers, as only one has been released since the Gen 9 reveal.
Therefore, a great source of information about what they will include Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a well-known Pokemon leaker named Riddler Khu. Khu has a proven track record that goes back a long way, and he has shared all sorts of correct information about Pokémon Legends: Arceus ahead of its release in January.
Among other things, Khu also previewed the new systems and tricks of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet with a series of tweets discussing elements of the first and second official trailers, as well as new unannounced things. Now, Khu has shared on Twitter his preferences for the main Pokémon games, placing Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and their DLC in third place.
Although there was no rumor nor was there anything official about the possibility that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet received extra content in the form of DLC or Expansion Passes, the consensus was that this was likely due to the way Pokémon Sword and Shield’s post-launch content was handled.
However, Khu has confirmed that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will receive some kind of DLC, although nothing has been shared about what it implies. Generation 9 will most likely have a similar focus to the Generation 8 Pokémon games, in that a DLC pack could expand the Pokedex and allow players to explore new areas.
