This testimony comes after the case of arrest of the Brazilian soccer player Dani Alves, who is being accused of raping a young woman in a place in Barcelona and is in provisional prison.
As this week the case was also made known and the accusations against the footballer Achraf Hakim, the Moroccan was prosecuted this week by the Nanterre Prosecutor’s Office for an alleged rape of a 24-year-old woman.
But these cases are not isolated, there is already a history of elite soccer players sentenced by the European authorities for sexual assault, such as Santi Mina was sentenced to four years in prison for sexual abuse in 2022, the Brazilian Robinho was sentenced to nine years by a court Italian for participating in a gang rape, Atakan Karazor spent 42 days in prison for an alleged sexual assault on a young woman in Ibiza, and Benjamin Mendy was also held until found not guilty on six counts of rape and sexual assault.
