Developed by Konami, Castlevania debuted in September 1986 for the Famicom and the series went on to cover about 30 titles released on almost all platforms. It has long been rumored that the Castlevania Advance Collection could be released to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the franchise, and so it has been.
During the Nintendo direct which was held last night, one of the presentations was this delivery and, although it was expected, it was equally surprising, since said collection already is it availabe to buy on PC via Steam, and on consoles.
A very complete Castlevania collection
Castlevania Advance Collection was jointly developed by M2, a studio that has worked with Konami in the past on other collections in the Castlevania and Contra saga. Also, this collection brings together four classic deliveries: Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow and Dracula X. The latter is a surprise because it is the only one of the four that is not a Game Boy Advance port, since it has appeared on Wii U and 3DS since its launch. original on SNES.
On the other hand, the collection also presents some improvements such as quick save, rewind function to correct jumps or wrong actions, so you don’t have to worry too much about dying, a special gallery and even a selection of ROM from different regions that you can enjoy.
In addition, apart from Castlevania, it was also announced the return of other classics during the Nintendo Direct, ActRaiser was one of them. A beloved classic that first appeared on the Super Nintendo in 1990, it has received a remastered version that you can now purchase on Steam under the name ActRaiser: Renaissance. A way to be able to relive these classics, which you can now get on your PC, and enjoy like the first day.
