The health sector is a pillar for any country and the current Covid-19 pandemic has shown it. That is why it is necessary to invest everything necessary to offer sufficient resources to those in charge of caring for patients. With this in mind, the news given by the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) about a new General Hospital it will benefit everyone.
More and better units to care for patients
In this sense, the general director of the Institution, Pedro Zenteno, pointed out that it not only acts in the renewal of first class clinics, but also in new hospitals. The reason is quite simple: entitlement deserves high-tech, 100-percent-functioning facilities.
The head of the ISSSTE announced that this Sunday, May 15, will be the inauguration of the General Hospital “Dr. Daniel Gurría Urgell” in Villahermosa, Tabasco. He added that it will be fully equipped and fully operational, for the benefit of more than 760,000 beneficiaries in the southeastern region of the country.
During his visit to five Family Care Clinics (CAF) in Morelos, Pedro Zenteno stressed that, in addition to the equipment that is carried out in first-level clinics and hospitals throughout the country, the ISSSTE will have four new hospitals, located in Morelos, Nayarit, Oaxaca and Tabasco.
The strategy is to work at ground level. “We are going to transform the institute to provide quality health services to the more than 13.6 million beneficiaries that are registered. For this reason, we are going to visit the 1,750 offices, clinics and medical units that the institute has throughout the country, to learn first-hand the conditions in which they are operating in order to improve them.”
Tour of the ISSSTE units throughout the country
From December 8, 2021 to May 11, 2022, the director of the Issste has visited 43 Family Medicine Units (UMF), 24 CAF, 17 Family Medicine Clinics (CMF), seven Stays for Child Welfare and Development (EBDI ), two Hospital Clinics (CH) and two Family Medicine Clinics with Specialty and Operating Room (CMFEQ).

After learning that the Tetela del Volcán and Ocuituco CAFs are on loan, the general director asked to review the legal status of both in order to incorporate them into the ISSSTE heritage. With this, it seeks to initiate the necessary steps and procedures to elevate them to Family Medical Units. He pointed out that they comply with what is necessary to provide quality care to the rights of the area.
In dialogue with the medical staff of the Yecapixtla and Atlatlahucan CAFs, Pedro Zenteno reported that in order to avoid the transfer of beneficiaries to the clinics where there is a laboratory, sampling modules will be set up, which will be sent for analysis to avoid unnecessary travel.
Lastly, during his visit to the Tlayacapan CAF, he commented that since it is in a remote place and at the foot of the highway, a more suitable place will be sought to relocate it. The objective is that beneficiaries receive a quality service at the first level of care
