We like inspiring spaces to work. And for that, we have loved these offices in neo art-deco style located in Barcelona and designed by the interior design studio Fluff Studio.
The offices, the new headquarters of the Swedish code firm Protoyp, are located in a typical estate in Barcelona’s Eixample. And they have been designed with captivating styling that appeals to customers and employees alike.
The new offices is a modern and cozy space, with different ‘chill’ zones and zones to make video calls with privacy. “The client wanted something daring but that represented the Barcelona headquarters. That it be attractive for its workers and offer Swedish employees a place to work from in the heart of Barcelona” explain from Fluff Studio.
To achieve this environment, the interior design studio opted for respect the original architectural elements of the space, taking advantage of the high ceilings, the moldings, the large doors with rings, the huge windows, or the original Nolla mosaic.
In addition to respecting the original elements, having different video call spaces separate from the work area was important, since the prototype Barcelona develops projects in constant collaboration with the Uppsala and Stockholm offices.
Another demand of the Swedish company was to create a warm space with all the comforts, like a home and with ‘chill’ areas to rest after spending hours looking at the screen.
In the office there is a work area on one side, in the center a ‘stand up-meeting room’ and small rooms for videoconferencing and on the other side a large living room, dining room and open kitchen. Connected to the living room is a gallery with access to a patio.
In the hall there is a generous natural light. A large sofa upholstered in the brand’s corporate blue hue is the main protagonist of the space, with turquoise blue, orange and mustard yellow cushions. It is accompanied by a wooden coffee table with a glass top, a piece acquired from an antique dealer. A mustard velvet armchair in the gallery area and two braided rattan and wood chairs (Kave Home) in front of the sofa break the formality of the space. The green of different natural plants provides the necessary touch of freshness.
In the reform of the space, the aim was to end the corridor effect of this type of old housing, and to achieve this, Pelusa Studio opted to demolish a couple of partitions and thus open the kitchen to the corridor.
In this area, an emerald green hue has been used both in the kitchen cabinets, as well as in the doors and walls. In the space, a white office bar stands out, on which a hanging shelf with natural plants has been hung. For the stools, the interior design studio has chosen an intense olive green.
In the office area from Pelusa Studio they have tried to create a teamwork environment. To achieve this, a dark color palette has been chosen to contrast with the dominant white on the walls and ceilings: black for the office furniture, dark brown on one of the walls and shelves, and intense blue on the curtains.
The bohemian touch is found in small details. For example, in one of the small living rooms, where behind the softness of a sofa with cushions, the shutter proudly shows off its woodwork with the original paint, worn by the passage of time.
In the offices, another daring detail that we find in the reception area also stands out: a large neon sign shows off the company’s brand, behind it the dark curtains of a window add theatricality to the space.
