Too many emojis are never enough. According to Unicode, there are currently 3,019 emojis, a format that has grown, due to the prediction of users to use them when communicating and now much more, thanks to an update planned for 2021, at least for iPhone users.
According to Emojipedia, 217 new emojis will arrive on Apple devices in the next year . Upcoming additions include “new faces, new heart styles, a bearded woman, and more mixed skin tone options.”
An emoji update will be available soon
Although the launch of a new emix package for iOS has been delayed by global civil limitations, Unicode already has everything on wheels to update them with the Unicode 13.1 version . According to Unicode:
“This is a relatively minor update to Unicode, having implemented a new program as a result of rolling back Unicode 14.0 due to the health emergency. Most of the additions are for mixed skin tone options. “
Other creations available include a flaming heart, bandaged heart, cloud face, exhaling face, and spiral-eyed face, new animal options including a black cat and mammoth, and emoji of food like bell pepper , flatbread and a tamale.
For its part and as reflected in the official information: “The rest with changes in skin tone are for a man or woman with a beard, and a considerable number of variations of a couple with a heart and a kissing couple.”
After years releasing new generations of emojis, Unicode is constantly attentive to the new demands for images that represent everyday situations or respond to specific requests from users. Despite this, can you think of any that are still missing from the list?
