The first version of the digital permit for Covid 19, about 200 thousand permits were granted.
The first version of this strategy was carried out from March 2020 to December 31, 2021 with the intention of breaking the chain of infections, during which time nearly 200 thousand digital disabilities. The program was reactivated in January 2022 with version 3.0 and was deactivated on February 22 of the same year.
The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), activated on July 7 of this year version 4.0 of its service to process disabilities virtually for all current workers who may be infected by the Covid-19 virus during the fifth wave of infections in the country.
On Sunday, August 7, the IMSS announced that it would terminate the digital disabilities service for Covid-19 due to the low rates of infection that have occurred in recent weeks and the decrease in disability requests.
Now all workers assigned to the IMSS in order to process their disability must go in person to their Family Medicine Unit or one of the Social Security Respiratory Care Modules (MARSS).
According to the IMSS statement, “The COVID permits granted generated subsidy payments equivalent to 120.1 million pesos, which contributed to avoiding the transfer of workers for their temporary incapacity for work process and consequent collection at counters, stopping chains of contagion.”
