The field of health is one of the fields that has suffered the most in our country for decades. Not only is there a shortage of doctors, but there are not enough units to care for patients. With this in mind, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) announced the construction and inauguration of a hospital in record time. It took less than 12 months to complete the project.
Hospital characteristics
In this case it is the General Zone Hospital (HGZ) No. 35 and is located in Cuautlancingo, Puebla. In total it was built and equipped in 9 months. It has 90 hospital beds, three operating rooms, an expulsion room, specialty clinics, X-rays, a tomograph, two endoscopy units, a laboratory, a pharmacy, and an emergency room, among other services.
In his message, the director of the IMSS, Zoe Robledo, He stressed that this hospital fulfills the purpose of having a completely new and unprecedented hospital model for the Institute.
He thanked the governor of Puebla, Sergio Solomonand the municipal president of Cuautlancingo, Filomeno Sarmiento Torres, for the willingness to donate the land that makes it possible to serve the population for many years. Also to Dr. Célida Duque Molina, director of Medical Benefits, who has ensured that the most innovative IMSS programs, such as Heart Attack Code, Brain Code, AMIIMSS, operate in this hospital.
“Today Cuautlancingo is a reality because of the number of surgeries it has done, because of the people, the girls and boys, the new Mexicans who have been born here, because of the studies, the tomographies that have already been carried out.”
In his message, Governor Sergio Salomón Céspedes stressed that, without distinction, his administration promotes joint strategies so that there are better living conditions and progress in the entity and the country is a reality.
The president said that the Puebla government is open to helping the federation so that the IMSS-Wellness reinforce the “very good health service that is provided in the state of Puebla and headed by the secretary José Antonio Martínez García.”
IMSS losses suffered by the 2017 earthquakes
In her participation, the head of the Decentralized Administrative Operation Body (OOAD) of the IMSS in Puebla, Dr. María Aurora Treviño García, highlighted that after the loss of the San Alejandro Hospital in 2017, as a consequence of the earthquakes of that year, the Social Security it has made extraordinary efforts to serve the rightful, with the work of its 14,500 workers. She highlighted the growth in installed capacity at Hospital La Margarita, with two temporary hospitals that were dedicated to COVID-19 care.
Prior to the protocol act, the federal and state authorities, accompanied by the director of HGZ No. 35, Dr. Carlos Mario Santamaria Naal, unveiled a commemorative plaque and cut the ribbon for the medical unit of the Second Level of care.
In addition, they visited the shock areas, adult triage emergencies, pediatric emergencies, observation, critical obstetric patients, obstetric triage, Tocosurgery office, blood collection center and laboratory, interpretation of diagnostic studies, blue room, X-ray imaging and 64-slice tomograph, pharmacy, Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitalization, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine Hospital, offices and Outpatient Consultation room.
