Cabify adapts to respectful cities
Contribute to the development of the cities of the future with initiatives that respect the environment and are adapted to the mobility needs of citizens. This is the objective that Cabify has set for itself, the startup urban mobility Spanish, which has managed to improve and adapt its Cabify Electric range.
This, as such, is a fleet of 100% electric vehicles that since 2016 has included vehicles from the BMW Group. In this way, and to better accentuate this type of service, the company chooses to include a all-electric category in its offer of car services with driver (under VTC license).
Among its positive points, it also has the possibility that, if someone is in possession of an electric car, preferably 100% (that is, not hybrids or plug-in hybrids), They can be Cabify drivers with all the facilities that this implies.
What does it consist of
As we see with services like Uber, among others, this is operational in more than 36 cities in the world. Latin America can boast of being the great impetus for the company’s international expansion, with a presence in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay -and with ideas for growth in more territories-.
But the Peninsula also enjoys being the place of its foundation. With service in Spain (A Coruña, Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Malaga, Tenerife and Valencia) and Portugal (Lisbon, Porto and Madeira), it has become the most successful application of this type of mobility with a driver, together with the cited North American, in Western Europe. All this has made its creator, Juan de Antonio, one of the pioneers in Spanish-speaking mass transportation networks.
Cabify is defined as a platform that puts professional drivers in contact with users who need to solve a specific mobility problem. Said in an easier way; someone who needs a car and a driver to take them from one point to another and not charge too much for it. But what most people don’t know is that the cars are not from Cabify, but from their employers who are the ones who get the biggest ‘cut’.
Not any vehicle
Likewise, and as something to keep in mind, it is that not any vehicle is valid to be a driver of this Cabify service, even if it is purely electric. And it is that these are luxury, they have a very elegant appearance and that the user sees that he is traveling in high range, something that contrasts with the slightly lower prices of other services.
In turn, being an entrepreneur is understood as one who owns the car and the VTC license that authorizes him to perform that function. To be a Cabify entrepreneur, therefore, two requirements are essential:
- Have a vehicle rental license with driver, known as VTC. This has been the case since car rental with driver was regulated in Spain.
- Have a car that meets the conditions of the range you want to access.
Cabify groups its services into three categories: Lite, Executive and Group. The first two are the ones that accumulate the most customers, especially the Lite.
