In the last year, digital fraud and computer vulnerability have increased by up to 90 percent.
Mexico suffered, during the first quarter of 2022, 50 percent more cyberattack attempts than in all of 2021.
Currently, just over 6 percent of the world’s population is active on the internet.
Within the current context, social networks have become a fundamental part of daily life, so much so that it is within them that a wide range of paid activities has been developed, either as content creators or as part of paid projects; however, these are not always entirely optimal, as shown by a TikTok user, who shows how she lost more than 10,000 pesos “because she was trusting” and the method with which alleged employment-generating companies are defrauded on Instagram.
Digital fraud is a growing problem, because if you take into account that just over 60 percent of the world’s population is online, they can be seriously affected, so much so that, according to Forti Guard Labs for Latin America and the Caribbean, Mexico suffered nearly 80 billion cyberattack attempts during the first quarter of the current year, figure that represents a significant increase to everything registered during 2021.
