In September 2021, sales of new hybrid cars in Spain reached 16,493 units, which represents an increase of 33.94% compared to the same period of the previous year. The hybrid vehicle is gaining ground and its market share is already above 20%.

Electrification is gaining popularity among Spanish drivers, which is helping to avoid a total crash in registrations. In the month of September 2021 the hybrid car sales in Spain have counted a total of 16,493 units, which compared to the same period of the previous year, represents a 33.94% rise.
The hybrid vehicle market share in Spanish territory during September stood at 22.97%. However, it is important to note that these registration figures include both hybrid vehicles (HEV) and light hybrids (MHEV).
Regarding the accumulated data, they show equally positive figures. In the period between the months of January and September, hybrid car registrations reached 161,488 units, which represents a 82.94% rise compared to 2020.
Hybrid passenger car registrations report data practically identical to those previously described. And this is because the vast majority of hybrid vehicles sold are passenger cars. In September, 16,236 units were reached, which represents an increase of 35.98%. Between January and September, sales of hybrid passenger cars harvested 158,465 units, 83.40% more than last year.
