Human launched a Gitcoin-based bounty program to incentivize third parties to deploy and integrate HUMAN’s technology, as well as to check and maintain integration status. This was reported from the official Human Protocol blog.
“The HUMAN protocol was built to be distributed throughout the world. From our choice to make all of our technology open source, to using hackathons as our way of fostering a community of knowledgeable developers to help spread and build HUMAN technology, the Protocol and accompanying technologies are intended to be applied to many new use cases”, they indicated in the post.
“To ensure that the HUMAN ecosystem remains a truly connected, useful and truthful place, we are rolling out the HUMAN maintainer program. Maintainers will ensure that HUMAN adoptions and integrations are implemented correctly and remain so, both now and in the future”, they added.
Rewards in Ethereum
Instead of launching a smart contract on each chain, the maintainer program breaks down the steps required to launch the job on a new chain.
This is how they detailed the initiative: “The role is divided into two functions, each of which can earn the maintainer 1 ETH. Maintainers can port HUMAN tools like Proof of HUMANity to new chains, launch HUMAN dashboards, and launch sample apps like Fortune to earn 1 ETH. Then maintainers can maintain that – or another – integration for an additional ETH per year of maintenance.”
“The maintenance work is designed for the maintainer to act as a community link between the HUMAN protocol and the blockchains. When a network has, for example, a bug, or an update, maintainers can manage the change. The work will require, for example, ensuring that smart contracts are correctly reflected in blockchain scanners.” they specified.
It should be noted that there are currently five bounties for maintainers running.
