Technology companies are increasingly developing augmented and mixed reality devices, a market that threatens to be one of the largest in the world and, for some, will displace cell phones.
These devices allow users to interact with the real world, opening up a new world of possibilities for individuals and businesses alike.
One of the biggest trends in augmented reality devices is the shift towards wearable devices. Especially smart glasses that can display information and graphs in real time.
For example, the game “Pokemon Go” became a global phenomenon in recent years, with users interacting with virtual creatures in their own neighborhoods.
Beyond video games, these devices have enormous potential in industries like healthcare, where doctors will be able to view patient data without looking away, or in the manufacturing of countless products, where workers they will be able to access important information without taking their hands off the task at hand.

It’s not uncommon for Apple to be slow to get into a trend or product feature.
It did so with the iPhone, which didn’t have a dual-lens camera until 2017, several years after HTC introduced a dual camera with its One M8 (2014).
Apple won’t be alone in the XR device business. Last October, Meta launched its Quest Pro, which allows users to interact with virtual objects.
Last week, Samsung said that the Korean giant is “working” on its mixed reality strategy. Microsoft, meanwhile, has its own mixed reality headset, the HoloLens. At the same time, Xiaomi unveiled a prototype of augmented reality glasses these days.
