- Cars for private use intended to attend a medical emergency.
- Taxis can circulate from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (in the morning) even on days that are restricted by “No Circulation Today”, regardless of the hologram they carry.
- Carriages intended for funeral processions and transportation of funeral services, as long as the hologram is valid.
- Vehicles for people with disabilities that have permission to exempt the “Today No Circulation for Disability” and that have a disability plate hologram.
How much is the fine for breaching the ‘No Circulation Today’?
If you do not comply with the rules of the ‘Hoy No Circula’ program, your vehicle will be taken to the corralón until you pay the economic fine that is around 20 or 30 times the Unit of Account in Mexico City, an equivalent of $1,509.80 – $2,264.70 pesos, while in the State of Mexico the penalty is $1,460.80 pesos.
When is ‘Doble Hoy No Circula’ activated in Mexico?
The ‘Doble Hoy No Circula’ usually comes into effect in the central region of Mexico (CDMX, Edomex, Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla, Tlaxcala and Querétaro) when environmental pollution levels are high and ozone levels exceed 151 points. In this case, the restrictions affect vehicles with holograms 0, 00 and motorcycles.
