Updating our television is quite an important task. On the one hand, we will have at our disposal all the news that the manufacturer is going to incorporate into our model, and on the other, will serve to correct errors that may be present in the software of our Smart TV.
It may be the case that we are without an Internet connection. And it is that today, as unlikely as that may seem, there may be situations in which we need to update our television but for some reason we do not have access to the network. That is why in this article We will show you the steps to follow to update a Samsung TV without the need for Internet.
But before proceeding with the installation, we see it necessary to indicate that Manually updating the TV can have certain risks. And it is that if the update that we have downloaded and installed has errors on the part of the manufacturer, it might not be so easy to go back to a previous update, which would require in certain cases to call the technical service.
Another issue to address is that we will need an Internet connection on the device where we are going to download the update, since we will have to enter Samsung’s own website. We can always go to a friend or neighbor in cases where we have no other choice.
That said, if you are still going to proceed with it, below these lines we leave you with the steps to follow to manually install the latest software update for our TV.
Steps to follow
The first step is to know the exact model of our television, something that we can see in Setting, Technical support and enter the option About the TV.
Once our model is known, we will have to enter the Samsung website and find the firmware update for our specific TV model. For this you can visit the Samsung download center and enter the model in question.
Once our television is located on the manufacturer’s website, it will be enough to go to the tab Manuals and Downloads and click on the option that says Upgrade File (USB type). This will download a zip file that we will have to unzip and transfer all the content to our USB.
There are models in which instead of a zip file, it is only an executable. To do this, we simply double click on it and follow the steps to prepare our USB with the update.
Insert the USB into our TV
Now with our USB ready, we only have to insert the USB memory into one of the ports of the TV and the update should start automatically. If this is not the case, we must enter the TV settings, Technical support and Software update.
As we have mentioned previously, it is an additional method in case it is not possible for us to access the Internet from our television. If that is not the case, the best thing will be to do it from the TV’s own software update tab.
