During this time, it is quite common that we take a vacation. It may be a whole month or just a week; we might go to the beach, visit a beautiful city, or maybe just stay home and rest. But in any case, what we want is to disconnect from the daily routine and be relaxed.
Unfortunately, there are always those who have not found out that we are going on vacation or that, still having found out, the “urgency” has come in for something. So if you go on vacation, you can set up an automatic reply in your Gmail to inform those who contact you that you will not be available for a while. Doing it is very easy, and customizable, and we tell you the steps to follow below.
Your automatic reply in a few easy steps
You can configure the message you want to inform those who contact you that you are on vacation, for example:
Subject: I’m on vacation
Message: Hi! I’m on vacation right now. I will return on September 1 but if you need something urgently you can send a message to [email protected]
This message will be sent as an automatic response to each person who contacts you the first time they do so between 00:00 hours of the start date you set, and 23:59 hours of the end date you program.
To set up an automatic reply from your Android smartphone or tablet, or from an iPhone or iPad, follow these steps:
- Open the Gmail application on your Android device
- Click on the icon cel menu that you see in the upper left and then scroll down to the bottom and select “Settings”
- Choose the account where you want to configure your automatic reply
- Click on the “Automatic Answer” section
- At the top, turn on the “Auto Answer” switch
- Specifies the time period, for example, between August 15 and August 31
- Write the subject and message.
- Click on “Done”
And ready! You have already set up your automatic reply. If for any reason you want to deactivate it, you just have to turn off the “Automatic Answer” switch.
Remember that the automatic reply is not sent to the messages that go to the spam folder or to the distribution lists in which you are registered.
