Twitter, Facebook or Instagram are some of the social networks that attract your attention every day. Sharing your favorite photos and videos, chatting with your friends, or posting any thoughts that come to mind are just some of the tasks that these world-dominating networks allow you to do.
It is difficult today to find a smartphone that does not have one of these applications installed, thus facilitating the impressive data of the same. As reported by Expansión in June 2017, Facebook had reached 2,000 million monthly users, with a total of 800 million people clicking the “like” button every day.
In case you are one of those 2,000 million Facebook users, or you use other social networks such as Twitter or Instagram, you will know the importance of all the content you upload to them. As happened with Tuenti in 2017, as reported by El País , you may run out of all that uploaded information if you forget to retrieve it before the platform closes.
The end of those social networks mentioned seems almost impossible at this time, but, just in case, we are going to explain how you can get all the content that you have shared in them. Thus, if you decide to delete your profile, you will not lose anything of importance.
Downloading all the history of tweets that you have published during your stay on this microblogging network is very easy. The platform itself provides you with an easy-to-use tool that gives you access to all those messages of 140 characters maximum (or 280).
To download the file with all the information you just have to go to Settings> Account> Request your file. Next, Twitter will provide you with a button that you will have to press to download from the first to the last tweet you have published.
Finally, the file you will download will be in HTML format. Being able to save all the information is insurance in case you one day decide to leave Twitter, a social network that has more and more problems with privacy and security, and that has opened the debate about anonymous accounts.
The most important photography social network of the moment has several apps that allow the download of photos. What is this about? Well, on Instagram you can save the videos and photos that you have published, but not shared by other users.
Given this inconvenience, there are many tools that allow you to do it. Vilma Núñez names some of them, among which we highlight Download Gram, Instaport, Savevideo and Stories IG, which allows you to download stories from other accounts.
Instagram, the social network that already allows you to do direct between two users, offers you functions that, when activated, save the images you share in a folder on your mobile, both in Stories and in your normal feed.
To enable these options, you have to enter “Settings” and slide the following functions to the right: “Save original photos”, “Save published photos” and “Save videos after publishing”. From that moment, everything you upload will be safe on your device.
Mark Zuckerberg’s social network could not be less and also has an option to download all the shared information. In this way, Facebook offers those 2 billion monthly users a simple and direct way to get all the data they need.
No detail is out of your reach thanks to this feature. As explained from Cinco Días, you can download any photo, video and message posted, all the information on your profile and even the messages of the conversations you have had in the chat.
To download the file, you just have to follow the following path: Settings> General> Download a copy of your information. By clicking on the link, you will download a compressed file that will contain all the content.
Snapchat
Although Snapchat has suffered a great downturn since the exit of Instagram Stories, many users continue to use the social network of filters. If you are one of these, you have the opportunity to download the images in your mobile gallery.
Snapchat has added a very important change for its users
To do this, you will have to use the “Memories” or “Memories” function. So, go to “Settings” and click on “Save in”, then choose the option “Memories and Reel”. Thus, each publication you save will remain in the internal Snapchat folder, although you can transfer them to your mobile.
If you want the content to be automatically saved to your device, you can select the autosave option on the “Memories” screen. It is not the only advantage of this Snapchat feature, which also allows you to upload memories that were taken a while ago, something that could not be done at first.
As you have seen, you have different options to download everything you have shared on your favorite social networks. Thus, you will avoid losing it in case one of them fails.
