What many of us do not know about our hard drive is the fact that, like any other computer, it can be divided into several sections or even compartments, which also have independent accesses.
In this way, we can have in it which is installed correctly and also an extra operating system which is specifically dedicated to certain functions, which, however, should not interfere with the rest.
One of the most common cases of this is those computers that have the Windows operating system within their devices in one partition and Linux in another. Within this post we will give you all the necessary details, so that you can resize the partitions in AOMEI Partition
What does AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition offer you?
In general, what includes the management of these areas is not usually an easy job, since this task immediately requires a special application which also deals with it clearly and precisely.
Within the list of managers that work with partitions for Windows, we can highlight tools such as AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition . Which currently has just presented its version 8.1, which also consists of being a free service.
How to resize partitions with partition Assistant
When we are looking to extend the partition of an operating system, what we are really looking for is to increase the size of the partition, which we are going to detail in a few points so that you can make it simple and fast:
To do this, we must have an available space which must be allocated within the disk in which the partition we are looking to extend is located. If, on the other hand , we do not have any space which we can assign, what we can do is reduce any of the other partitions that we have, in order to generate the space we want.
The space that we have not assigned, it is important that it is adjacent to the partition that we want to extend at the moment, it is important that both partitions are on the same destination line or behind it.
Otherwise, we may use the « Move Partition » function in order to adjust its position, to do this we must follow the following steps:
- Start by installing and running AOMEI Partition Assistant, and then, locate yourself inside your main console, and there proceed to verify which are the configurations that this partition has. Within this, we will be able to see a space, which will be found without any type of assignment and which in its view we will be able to see just behind drive C. Once this is done, we must right click inside the partition that we are looking to extend . There we must select the option ” Resize / Move Partition “.
- We can see here a pop-up window, in which we must place our pointer right on the right edge of the partition and proceed to drag it to the edge on the right, in order to give the effect we want to said partition and proceed to extend it.
- After that, we just have to click on the ” Accept ” button and if there is no space for the partition, the same window will give us a warning in which it cannot drag the border.
- Once this is completed, we must return to the main console and in that place we can preview the work we have done, this is what we mean by the extended partition that we have assigned. Here we must press the ” Apply ” button found in the toolbar and with this all the action we have done will be confirmed.
