Visits are always important for every website as it brings the site to life. That is why you always have to think of new and inventive ways to make content much richer and more creative, as well as improve the experience of a website.
You have to be smart and resourceful for this since the idea is not to be left behind with the other websites out there. The idea is to be able to get your hands on a website that can get a steady stream of visitors, and little by little build a fan base.
However, this can get a bit difficult when we end up having problems or errors with our website. One of the most common errors that we can get on our website is 404 NotFound.
This is often classified as a tracking error and for many, it can end up being a big problem as it can spoil all the visits we have on a daily basis. That is why you have to know how to fix these types of errors instantly.
If what you want is to be able to repair your URL and make the 404 error not reoccur or at least you know how to handle it, see below this little tutorial that we have put together for you, which will teach you how to handle this problem on your website Blogger.
Fixing the 404 error
The reasons why this error can appear in a user’s browser can be quite diverse. It may be because you have deleted a URL, that you have changed it or that it has simply ceased to exist. But if something is certain, it is that when this error occurs, it must be fixed as soon as possible.
The good thing is when this happens, Google continues to track the original URLs and we can analyze a little why it happened and from this, we can do something about the original post that does not lead anywhere and make Google track the new links to which we want to make it reach.
When it comes to URLs that have been modified in some way or that no longer lead to any site, we have two options. We can eliminate the links that end up giving us that 404 error by going directly to the Blogger panel, and entering Google SearchConsole, then the Google Index and the Delete URLs part.
Or we can do something a little smarter and redirect from the old link. This helps a lot when those URLs that are given the 404 had good positioning and still have clicks.
Redirecting visitors
What we must do is enter the Blogger settings and then enter the Preferences for search engines. Here, you must enter the “Custom Redirection” part. Where it says that there are no elements, you must click Edit and some fields will open to fill in.
In the one that says “From” you must put the old URL to which you want to redirect, and in the “To” put the new URL where you want the visitors to arrive. Followed by putting “Yes” in Permanent.
