It may be that, to prevent your Mac from playing system sounds (startup, trash, etc.), you directly lower the volume of the device to the maximum. We are going to teach you how you can disable these sounds in isolation, to keep your Mac in sound mode, but without playing system sounds.
Turn off system sounds
MacOS, like any operating system, has different sounds programmed for the user interface, as well as on startup. It may be the case that we want to have the Mac in sound, but not that these sounds are reproduced in particular. The solution is not to completely silence the Mac, but we can configure it to isolate these sounds.
The procedure is more than simple and is done in just a few seconds from the Mac’s own settings. We are going to teach you how to do it step by step:
- Open your Mac menu ( icon in the upper left corner).
- Go to ‘System Preferences’.
- Now go to the ‘Sound’ section.
- Within it you will see the options to deactivate the system sounds.
In the sound section you can deactivate the options to ‘play sound on startup’ and ‘play user interface sounds’. If you disable these sounds, they will not play again, the Mac will still be in sound mode though.
