What will happen to the Solidarity Income payments in 2023?
The Government has confirmed the end of the Solidarity Income program for 2023. According to the authorities, this benefit cannot be delivered due to insufficient budget available to maintain the allocation of bonds. However, in replacement of this subsidy, other measures will continue to be implemented to protect families in the country.
The last allocation of vouchers from the Shock Plan Against Hunger for the beneficiaries of the Solidarity Income was made in December of last year, and until the second week of January 2023 no additional allocation has been made. What to do if I have pending payments in Solidarity Income?
During the period between December 7 and 30, 2022, the payments corresponding to numbers 32 and 33 of the Solidarity Income program were delivered. Solidarity Income: how do I know if I am a beneficiary of the new Citizen Income subsidy?
The Citizen Income benefit will be granted to Colombian citizens who are classified in groups A and B of SISBEN IV, as well as to indigenous communities and people who have suffered forced displacement. Depending on the specific situation of each household, financial aid will be granted that will range between $100,000 and $500,000.
It is important to highlight that priority will be given to those residents who live in the 466 municipalities with the highest rates of multidimensional poverty, child malnutrition and the PDET territories. On the other hand, the databases of the subsidies delivered during the years 2021 and 2022 will be considered for the delivery of financial aid.
Citizen Income 2023: how much is received and when do they pay?
In Colombia, a transition stage is being organized in order to offer a bonus of 500,000 pesos to households that are in a condition of poverty, extreme poverty or economic vulnerability. These payments will be made from April of this year and will be made every two months. This program seeks to support the most needy households in the country.
