Learn to control the status of your iPhone battery, it is important to know when we will have to change it.
The lithium-ion batteries used by iPhones, and most mobile devices, are far from perfect and they lose capacity every time we load them. And there is nothing worse than an iPhone with a bad battery.
With the passage of time, and charging cycles, any battery deteriorates so it is important to know if the battery of our iPhone is damaged or in good condition. Fortunately we can do it in a simple way.
How to know the status of the iPhone battery
Apple offers us a tool to know at all times the status of the iPhone battery. This can be seen in the iPhone 6 and later models that have iOS 11.3 or a newer version.
- On your iPhone enter Settings.
- Now tap on the section Battery.
- Tap on Battery health.
- On Maximum capacity you will get the data of the battery status.
This percentage shows the current battery capacity relative to when the iPhone was new. A normal degradation maintains the percentage above 80% for two years or 500 full charges under typical conditions. A full charge means going from 0 to 100%.
If you want more information, you can always check the charging cycles of your iPhone battery, although to do so you have to follow somewhat more complex steps.
Peak performance capacity
This section shows us if the battery capacity of our iPhone is in optimal conditions. At certain times of the day, the iPhone may try to use high battery power, and if peak throughput capacity is not adequate, may restart. In that case, Apple allows us to activate a tool through software that ensures that this does not happen by decreasing performance in a timely manner.
When to change the iPhone battery
Own iPhone will warn you when the battery is too bad with messages like “The condition of the battery has deteriorated significantly. An Apple Authorized Service Provider can change the battery to restore maximum performance and capacity“However, you are likely to run into battery life issues before this message appears.
One time batteries of the iPhone complete 500 charge cycles, your capacity begins to drop drastically. If you charge the iPhone every day, this will start to happen after two years. If you don’t use your iPhone that much, this period may take longer.
Once this time has passed, and when you notice that the battery lasts much less than before, it is advisable to change the battery of the device, as long as you are going to continue using it. IPhone battery replacement prices aren’t as expensive as you’d expect, and they’re an easy way to keep your iPhone for years to come.
